KAVIAR GAUCHE DESIGNS FOR KARSTADT

Berlin, June 9, 2008. The designer duo Kaviar Gauche (Alexandra Fischer-Roehler and Johanna Kühl) won the first Karstadt New Generation Award. During last year’s Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week (July 12-15, 2007), Kaviar Gauche impressed the jury with its conceptual, avant-garde feminine designs and was voted the most creative up-and-coming designer label in Berlin. As the winner of the Karstadt New Generation Award, Kaviar Gauche has designed a spring/summer 2008 collection, “concept by kaviar gauche”, exclusively for Karstadt. “Concept by” is a Karstadt own brand.

The youthful, 70s-flavored collection comprises a total of 18 items, with a particular focus on shirt blouses, tunics and summer dresses. The designers drew inspiration from the traditional shirt. “The design and the initial ideas are 100% Kaviar Gauche, but we developed the overall concept for the collection together with Karstadt,” explained Fischer-Roehler and Kühl.

The partnership between Kaviar Gauche and Karstadt will continue into the coming winter season.

The collection is in the mid-price segment, with prices ranging from €129 to €169. The collection is available at the following Karstadt branches: Bremen, Cologne, Dresden, Düsseldorf, Essen, Gießen, Hanover, Konstanz, Leipzig, Lübeck, Mülheim, Munich, Nuremberg, Saarbrücken, Stuttgart, Alsterhaus Hamburg, Frankfurt Zeil, KaDeWe Berlin und Oberpollinger Munich.
